Benefits Overview
American Pest Management believes that a good benefits package is a crucial element in attracting and retaining the best employees.  With that in mind, we have designed a competitive compensation and benefits package.  As a family oriented company, we also realize the importance of caregivers’ roles in the work force and the need to take care of their families.
We offer: 

  • Insurance benefits for employees and their dependents:
  • Medical
    • Coverage through CareFirst BCBS begins on the first day of employment
    • Employees may choose an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization), a PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), or a HSA (Health Savings Account)
    • Employee contribution towards the premium is required
    • Provider Highlights:
    • HMO
      • No deductibles & $30/$40 primary care office visit co-pays (in network only)
      • Prescription benefits with $10/$20/$35 co-pays
    • PPO
      • $20 visit co-pay (primary care or specialist) in network
      • $500/$1000 (individual/family) deductible out-if-network; then 20% co-pay
      • Prescription benefits with $10/$20/$35 co-pays
    • HSA (PPO)
      • $1200/$2400 individual/family deductible in network; $2400/$4800 individual/family out of network deductible; then $0 co-payments (in PPO network) after deductible is met
      • Savings account feature to meet deductible—unused money carries over to next year
      • Prescription benefits with $0/$25/$45 copays
    • Voluntary Dental Insurance
      • Dental insurance benefits for employees and their dependents provided by Assurant
    • Life Insurance
      • $25,000 Life and Accidental Death Coverage
      • Voluntary insurance is available to employees and their dependents
    • Long-Term Disability Insurance through Assurant
      • Provides 60% of monthly salary after 90 days of total disability
    • Voluntary Short-Term Disability Insurance through Assurant
  • 401(k) Plan
    • Discretionary profit sharing employer contribution   
    • 100% vested in sixth year of employment
  • Section 125 Premium Payment Plan - This program allows our employees to contribute to their 401(k) and pay health care premiums before federal income, state income and social security tax is withheld. This means you pay less tax and have more money to spend.
  • Flexible Spending Account
    • Medical- Allows employees to pay any un-reimbursed, out-of-pocket medical expenses (e.g., co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, OTC medications, etc.) with dollars that are set aside before federal income, state income, and social security tax is withheld.  This means you pay less tax and have more money to spend.
    • Dependent Care – Allows employees to pay for dependent care expenses with dollars that are set aside before federal income, state income, and social security tax is withheld.  This means you pay less tax and have more money to spend.
  • Direct Deposit
  • Uniforms - Leased and cleaned on a weekly basis. We share the cost of maintenance on the uniforms 
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) - 40-160 hours per year based on years of service for all full time employees  
  • Paid Holidays - for all full time employees. These include New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.  In addition employees are paid one extra “floating” holiday on a day of their choosing.
  • Credit Union Affiliation -­ (SECU) this allows our employees and their families the opportunity to take advantage of the special services that credit unions have to offer.
  • Certified Licensing - we will assist our employees in becoming State Certified when they become eligible. The examination fee and the course of study are paid for by American Pest Management.
  • Employee Discounts - available to full-time employees immediately for our pest control services.

Please note:  Some of the above benefits have certain conditions or restrictions that must be met. They are explained fully in the Employee Handbook, the respective plan documents, as well as during new employee orientation.
