Environmental Policy
The employees of American Pest Management are committed to improving the quality of life for all of our customers by providing the safest and most effective treatment for the management of pests which pose a threat to their health, property, and food supply. History has shown that neglecting to control pests such as cockroaches, mosquitoes, rodents, and ticks, and the misapplication of pest control products are equally dangerous. Thus, we are committed to the protection of our environment by adhering to the following principles:
Training and Education
All American Pest Management personnel who apply pest management products will be verifiably trained to ensure appropriate and effective application of the products we use.
Environmental Protection
We believe pest management products should be transported, stored and mixed in a manner which preserves the quality of the natural ecosystem, including soil, water, air and endangered species.
Public Right-To-Know
We believe the public is entitled to know and should be provided with information about the products we use. Toward that end, we support government requirements to provide information and reasonable notice to interested persons who may come into contact with pest management products in public or private structures.
Research
We support increased public and private funding for the development of newer reduced-risk products and technologies for the management of structural pests.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
We are committed to adopting the principles of IPM , which will minimize our use of pesticides and require their application based on need rather than schedule.
Government Regulation
To enhance the public's confidence in the services we provide, we support granting proper stature and adequate funding for state and federal agencies which regulate our industry.
Waste Reduction
We support efforts by government agencies and product manufacturers to encourage the minimization of solid waste through the development of reusable and recyclable container systems.
Product Registration
We believe that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) registration of new and existing compounds should be based upon contemporary scientific standards.
